Duplicating Movements and Transporting Waste

Summary

In this industry engagement session, we covered how to duplicate waste movements and the transporter workflow of picking up and dropping off waste within the solution. To create consistency and facilitate standardisation in the complex hazardous waste industry, the word movement has been adopted to encompass “waste transport certificates”, “transport certificates”, “consignments” and “consignment reports”. The feedback, comments, and insights from the 1:1 sessions and group sessions with industry were taken on board to create screen designs, this session is a playback of the designs to validate how useable they are for industry and gather feedback to improve. 

The session followed a live demonstration of the prototype and then participants in the meeting were asked to provide feedback on the workflow through a feedback form as well as through facilitated Q&A discussion.

DUPLICATING MOVEMENTS – feature concept 

Last ‘sprint’ we covered how to create a single movement, this feature allows the duplicate an existing movement and edit. For example, if you were doing a milk run, you create one movement, duplicate it and edit the pick up address.

This screen allows a transporter to view movements and search for the movements they are picking up and dropping off.

This screen enables the transporter to see all required steps to pick up and drop off the waste.

When picking up and dropping off waste, transporters will be prompted to verify the details. This also give the transporter the ability to record the pick up and drop off date and other vital details, e.g. waste weight.

• The ability to duplicate movements will be very beneficial and a great time saver for industry. 
• Need to be cautious to design measures to limit erroneous duplications and detail errors.  
• Although the screens for the waste transport app were well received, the majority of transportation providers already have their own successful internal systems. Industry is concerned about duplicated effort to fix something that is not broken.
• We're currently planning on offering both the mobile app as well as API's for those operators who already have an app in place.
