Summary
In this industry engagement session, KPMG Origins covered adding new and completed movements with a CSV spreadsheet as well as how to update and finalise waste movements. The feedback, comments, and insights from the 1:1 sessions and group sessions with industry influenced the requirements for the system’s workflows and screen designs. The purpose of this session is to playback of the designs to validate how well they are meeting industry’s requirements and to gather feedback and considerations to further improve.
The session followed a live demonstration of the prototype, walking through the actions of adding movement(s), creating new movement(s) with a CSV template, upload completed movement(s) with a CSV spreadsheet and how to update and finalise movements. Participants in the meeting were then asked to provide feedback on the workflow through a survey form as well as through facilitated Q&A discussion.
The video below provides a recording of the session.
Selecting the appropriate workflow to add movement(s)
The purpose of this screen is to help you select the right add movement(s) action and initiate the appropriate workflow.
Creating Movements:
Option 1 – Creating Movements with an online form – was covered in a previous session with details to be found here.
Option 2: Creating new movement(s) with a CSV spreadsheet
This workflow enables you to download a CSV spreadsheet template to easily add data of multiple movements and create them in the system in one go.
Option 3: Uploading completed movements with a CSV spreadsheet
This workflow enables you to upload a CSV of all your completed movements to add them into the system in one go.
Updating & Finalising Movements
This workflow enables you to add and update details to finalise your waste movement via a CSV.
Key Takeaways
- More clarity needed to help understand which workflow to select to add/upload movement(s) and to highlight the fact that the completed movements upload is dependent on state legislation.
- More thought required on scenarios where preceding steps of waste movement(s) haven't been completed when it gets to receiver. “Is there the ability to complete the receiver sections if the originator or transport fields are missing? What about unlawfully transported loads (i.e. a load shows up without any documentation or knowledge of the process)?” – Waste receiver, Queensland
- Interest in supporting multiple document formats for bulk upload. “Current process we can upload a bulk number of scanned paper forms, with no digital entry for every form required. This looks like more work.” – Waste receiver, Queensland
- Interest in the system supporting an ‘in-built’ editor capability for CSV data
